Trying to manage your career and marriage? You are not the only one struggling with this. Sometimes you feel confused, guilty, or stuck between your dreams and responsibilities.
Many women come to Coach Sangeeta with this concern.
“Ma’am, I want to grow in my career, but my marriage is getting affected…”
Or
“I left my job after marriage, and now I feel lost…”
In today’s world, women want both — a successful career and a happy marriage.
But balancing both can feel overwhelming.
Let’s understand why this happens… and more importantly, what you can start doing today.
Why Do Women Feel Stuck Between Career and Marriage?
| 1. Societal Expectations & Pressure After marriage, lot of women are expected to: Prioritize home over career Adjust more than their partner “Try to Manage everything” without complaints This creates internal pressure: 👉 “Am I selfish for wanting to focus on my career?” | 2. Lack of Emotional Support from Husband Many women silently struggle because: Their partner doesn’t understand their ambitions Their career goals are not taken seriously Many women come to me saying: 👉 “He says me do whatever you want but doesn’t support me when I need it.” |
| 3. Guilt of Choosing Yourself Even when women have careers, they often feel: Guilty for not giving enough time to family Guilty for focusing on their dreams This emotional guilt slowly turns into stress and burnout. | 4. Career Break After Marriage Sometimes women step away from work, due to: Marriage Pregnancy Family responsibilities And when the want to restart, it becomes difficult because of: Loss of confidence Fear of restarting Feeling “left behind” |
| 5. No Clear Communication in Marriage Most couples don’t openly discuss: Expectations Roles Personal goals And this creates misunderstanding and frustration. |
Real-Life Example
One of my clients left her corporate job after marriage.
Initially, she thought:
👉 “I wil focus on family for a while.”
But after 1 year, she started feeling:
- Irritated
- Emotionally drained
- Lost identity
- Exhausted
When she came to me, she said:
👉 “I don’t even know who I am anymore.”
This is more common than you think.

This is such an important topic, especially in today’s time where women want to grow in their careers along with managing marriage. I could relate to the guilt and pressure you mentioned because it is something many of us silently deal with. The suggestion to stop comparing our journey with others really hit me.
I have read many articles on career vs marriage, life after marriage, how marriage affects career, but this one blog is very relatable. Your advice about communication and setting boundaries made a lot of sense to women. It feels like someone finally understands what women go through after marriage. This blog is truly helpful for women trying to balance work life and relationships.
